Editorial standards

Useful travel advice needs standards.

We publish research-based guidance. We won't claim personal experience we don't have, fabricate live prices, or treat a referral commission as evidence that a service is best.

Original content and sourcing

We write our own itineraries, comparisons and checklists based on official tourism sources, cultural institutions and provider terms. We link to sources where readers can confirm operating hours, policies and historical context. We avoid copying other travel sites or reproducing other travelers' private reviews.

When facts can change

Availability, room rates, admissions, transport routes, mobile-data plans and travel requirements may change at any time. Readers should verify material decisions directly with the provider or government agency before booking. Articles include publication or update dates.

Black traveler resources

We distinguish community-reported experiences from independently verifiable facts and avoid assigning racial safety scores to entire cities. We don't publish allegations about individual businesses without adequate substantiation.

Affiliate relationships

Some booking and service links can pay Take a Quest a commission. We clearly identify this and do not invent discounts or imply affiliation with unrelated travel organizations.

Corrections

Readers can submit corrections through the public contact form. We evaluate suggestions against current sources and revise information when justified.
